A pump company
built on its word.
Family-owned, Mitchell-based, and proud of the boring parts: showing up, doing what we said, and standing behind it.
In the mid-1950s, what is now Dakota Pump Inc. started in Sioux Falls, SD under the name Sanders Inc., manufacturing and marketing packaged water pump stations to meet a regional demand across the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska.
In 1967, investors acquired the company, renamed it Dakota Pump Inc., and later moved it to its current home in Mitchell, SD. The management philosophy shifted from a factory-direct regional sales effort to a national representation network — eventually covering the entire United States.
In 1971, local businessman Louis Sebert was named general manager and over the next 25 years acquired the business. Today, DPI is owned and operated by Louis's three sons — Bob, Bill, and Jim — who carry on the family-business atmosphere and stay actively involved in the Mitchell community.
We're proud to still be family-owned, to still answer the phone, and to still build pumps the way they should be built — in our own shop, by people who care.

Meet the team.

Three things, in order.
Relationships
Most of our customers have been working with us for decades. We don't take that lightly.
Craft
Every station is built and tested in our shop. We sign our work.
Service after the sale
The relationship starts at startup. We pick up the phone for as long as the station runs.
Ready to spec your next station?
